After 5 years we are proud of the collaborative research culture we have built across the N8, the multitude of research outputs that are contributing to the development of a sustainable, healthy and equitable food system, and our reputation for working closely with stakeholders (governments, industry, civic society) to deliver excellent research and innovation.
Notable achievements in the last 6 months include launching the N8 AgriFood Food Systems Policy Hub in Nov 2020 (the Hub is actively contributing evidence for coherent food system policies and practice), and the awarding of two Strategic Priorities Fund Transforming Food Systems programmes to N8 universities – reflecting our success at bringing together researchers from different disciplines with stakeholder platforms to co-design and co-produce research outcomes.
Prof. Katherine Denby is stepping down as Academic Director of the programme at the end of April and we are taking this opportunity to think how best to build on what we have achieved and progress transformation to a sustainable food system – both nationally and internationally. We look forward to working with partners across the N8 and beyond as we define and deliver these new goals.
