Join us in Lancaster for the sixth event in N8 AgriFood Doctoral Seminar series where we will be taking a broad look at how we use nutrients in our food system.

Human activity has had devastating effects on global nutrient cycles taking us way beyond the ‘safe operating space’ highlighted in the concept of planetary boundaries. Walking the Chain: Dairy Food System in North West England

This event is the latest in N8 AgriFood’s Seminar Series for PhD Students across the N8 Universities.

The two day seminar, being run by N8 AgriFood and Liverpool’s Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Food Systems, will provide an insight into the dairy food system and also the tools required to make sense of the biological, economic, social and cultural background of that system.

This symposium explores food justice from theoretical and practical perspectives.

This symposium explores food justice from theoretical and practical perspectives. It considers what food justice is, what justice demands from food policy, and how existing regulation achieves or fails to achieve food justice. It explores food justice as an overarching term encompassing theoretical perspectives like food security, food sovereignty and the right to food, and highlights specific problems with food justice.

Our 4th Annual N8 AgriFood Conference is hosted this year by York, Newcastle and Leeds. Over the two day event we would like to share with you what we have been contributing to the challenges facing the food system and provide a platform for further debate and discussion about the solutions we can all contribute to.
