N8 Research Partnership named Northern Powerhouse ‘University Organisation of the Year’

The N8 Research Partnership has been named Northern Powerhouse ‘University Organisation of the Year’ at a prestigious award ceremony in Manchester.

The award was presented to N8 at Northern Lights 2017, an event that is designed to celebrate business excellence and collaboration across the North of England.

N8 was recognised for its commitment to driving the Northern Powerhouse policy and innovation agenda forward, and praised for its contribution towards the region’s economic growth.

N8 AgriFood’s Resilient Supply Chains Theme Chair at York, Professor Dominic Moran, has a new co authored paper that has been published in the journal Agricultural Systems. Entitled Losses, inefficiencies and waste in the global food system, this paper explores the very real challenges that exist within global food, and the work required to counter it. Dietary transitions in Ghanaian cities

As part of the Drivers of Food Choice (DFC) Competitive Grants Programme, an international team of researchers in Ghana, the UK and France launched their 2 year project to investigate what drives unhealthy dietary changes in Ghana in January 2017.

The research is a collaboration between two N8 universities (Sheffield and Liverpool), University of Ghana, University of Health and Allied Sciences (Ghana), Loughborough University, and the French Agricultural Research & International Cooperative Organization.
